A resident of Adelaide, Yvette majored in music studies throughout high school, and was invited to apply for AMEB scholarship following outstanding exam results. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Music at the Elder Conservatorium with an equal weighting of Performance and Musicology studies, studying under a number of different teachers.

Yvette began teaching piano at a primary school in 1985 and moved to private teaching on starting full time employment after University studies. Her abilities as a teacher have been well demonstrated with students receiving:
 – excellent results in AMEB and Con Brio exams
 – Eisteddfod and other competition awards
 – significant performance opportunities
 – AMEB awards and showcase performance invitations
 – excellent school assessment marks

As well as a Bachelors degree, she holds the Associate and Licentiate qualifications from the AMEB, is a full member of the Music Teachers Association, and has an ‘Authority To Teach Piano’ in public schools by the Teachers Registration Board and DECS approval. Since graduating she continued piano studies with Gil Sullivan and performed in numerous concerts for Recitals Australia.

Performance and study were suspended after having two children, however 2009 saw a return to performance with a Recitals Australia Lunch Hour Concert. She currently manages a large private teaching practice encompassing several schools, was a tutor in the Young Conservatorium until the programs closure, was the adjudicator for the 2015 Norman Selleck Memorial Prize and is an AMEB Examiner.
